Dockmaster’s House Summer Party, E14
Dockmasters house, a stunning three-storey Georgian building, is the perfect venue for your summer party!
This listed Georgian building has had many past incarnations; it’s been an excise office, a pub called the Jamaica Tavern, and even the offices for the Dock Superintendent and his staff – hence the ‘Dockmaster’s House’ name. From February 2009, however, it opens as an Indian restaurant, with dining rooms, three bars and a garden with a stylish conservatory. Sumptuous and spicy Indian dishes include starters of charcoal grilled saffron prawns and green tandoori drumsticks, followed by a main of tamarind baked halibut or coconut chilli beef. Finish with a simple dessert of a selection of sorbets to clear the palate.
Serving authentic Indian cuisine in a fine dining setting, the menu is littered with gourmet-inspired curries, while a sleek, subterranean cellar bar serves a variety of innovative cocktails.
On the fringes of Docklands, Dockmasters Restaurant in London is just a 4-minute walk from West India Quay Tube Station.
The Cellar Bar offers elegance and refinement to the heart of London’s new financial district. Private areas are available for hire for small parties. Cellar’s delicious bar snacks are available throughout the evening. A perfect foil to Dockmaster’s House, the fine dining Indian Restaurant located above it, Cellar’s exquisite menus come from the same kitchen.
